Luanda - The Development Bank of Angola (BDA) will start receiving proposals from producers requesting financing, as part of the National Plan for the Promotion of Grain Production "Planagrão".
This was announced by the Secretary of State for the Economy, Ivan Marques dos Santos, on Thursday.
The Planagrão set to come into operation by 2027 is estimated at 2.8 billion, whose implementation axes include Governance, legislation, land bank,
delimitation, allotment, infrastructure schedule, financing, disbursement to promoters, logistics and transformation.
The National Plan for the Promotion of Grain Production foresees an average annual investment of around US$670 million for the production of wheat, rice,
soybeans and corn.
And around US$471 million annually for the construction and rehabilitation of support to the productive and social sector.
Speaking to journalists at the end of the multi-sector commission meeting, Ivan Marques dos Santos said that the BDA should respond to producers within 45 days on the status of the proposals submitted to the banks.
The minister, who would not reveal the number of pilot projects for the first phase, explained that producers, with well-conceived projects, must apply to the BDA for credits, within good banking practices.
He added that the interest rate for the National Plan for the Promotion of Grain Production stands at around 7.5%.
He pointed out that the general budget is prepared within an annual schedule, with its own goals and defined limits.
“We are going to work on phased disbursement process as these projects are being approved in the BDA portfolio”, the official stressed.
The multi-sector commission meeting discussed “The strategy national financing of the pilot project” and “Strategy of financing for Planagrão pilot projects for the northern province of Uíge”.
