Luanda - Angolan Adélio Cândido will be the assistant coach of Portuguese Rúben Amorim, who signed a contract until June 2027 with Manchester United, England, over the weekend.
The 28-year-old coach's integration into the Red Devils' coaching staff was confirmed at the weekend by his team boss (Rúben Amorim) in a press conference, after Sporting Clube de Portugal's 5-1 victory over Estrela da Amadora.
At Sporting since the 2019/2020 season, Adélio Cândido starts working in the 'Old Trafford' team on the 11th of this month of November.
The debut game for Rúben Amorim and company will take place on the 24th of the same month, against Ipswich Town, in the English League.
Adélio Cândido, born in Luanda, visited Angola on September 9 and witnessed the victory of the National Team against Sudan, by 2-1, at the National Stadium 11 de Novembro.
The coach started his career in the youth teams of Beira Mar de Almada (Portugal), where he moved to the initiates of Casa Pia.
He was assistant coach of Beira-Mar, Casa Pia, Sporting Braga, all from Portugal.
At the service of the 'lions', as an assistant coach, he won a Portuguese League Cup (2020/2021), Super Cup (2021/2022) and a National Championship (2023/2024).
