Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on Thursday appointed Manuel Homem, Minister of the Interior, replacing Eugénio Laborinho.
In another decree, the Angolan Head of State appointed Luís Manuel da Fonseca Nunes, governor of the province of Luanda, ceasing to hold the same position in the province of Benguela, to which Manuel Nunes Júnior was appointed.
The President of the Republic also dismissed José Paulino Cunha da Silva, from the position of Secretary of State for the Interior, and Carlos Armando Albino, from the position of Secretary of State for Technical Assurance.
New Minister of the Interior
Manuel Homem was born on November 24, 1979, in the province of Cabinda.
He has a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Private University of Angola UPRA, a master's degree in Computer Networks and Systems, in addition to having specialized training (MBA) in Project Management.
Professor of Informatics and consultant of information and communication technologies, he held (2010/2011) the functions of Coordinator of the Technical Group for the Standardization of Information Systems, Technological Infrastructures, Database Management Systems and Public Administration Services.
He is also a university lecturer in the Computer Engineering Course in the Specialties of Computer Networks, Network Administration and Computer Systems, Databases and Information Systems, at the Lusíadas de Angola - ULA and Privada de Angola - UPRA Universities.
From 2010 to 2013, he was a member of the Commission for the Implementation of the Electronic Governance and Private State Network Project (CIEGOV), having also held, between 2013 and 2016, the positions of general director of the National Center for Information Technologies and general director of the National Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI)
He was also Secretary of State for Information Technologies (2017/2020) and Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (2020/2022), when he was appointed governor of Luanda. In addition to Portuguese, he speaks English. ART/DOJ
