Luanda - The Angolan Embassy in Turkey gathered Saturday in Ankara Angolan students aiming to celebrate the 21 years of peace and national reconciliation, in a spirit of reflection on the future of Angola.
According to a note of the Embassy of Angola in Turkey, which ANGOP had access to on Sunday, the chargé d'affaires Armando Francisco used the occasion to recall the hard years of war for Angolans, stressing the importance of peace.
The diplomat urged the students to do their best for the development of Angola, encouraging young people to preserve the peace that cost a lot of sacrifice to millions of Angolans and the continuous process of national reconstruction, with dedication and honesty, to build a prosperous country.
During the event a video was shown regarding a consummation of the Luena Peace Accords in Moxico Province, which was signed on April 4, 2002, reminding young people about the history and the reunion of the great Angolan family.
In their turn, the students presented a video showing their opinions on what they think and wish for Angola in time of peace.
During the peace celebration in that European country, the student Domingas dos Santos performed a poem entitled “Creating love with dry eyes” written by the poet António Agostinho Neto.
The student Carlos Bento appealed for a coexistence in peace, freedom of thought and mutual respect for the consolidation of the Democratic State.
The act was preceded by a soccer match, between the Angolan students versus the friends of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), with victory of the Angolans by 6-3.
