Luanda – Angola is participating in the 14th edition of the annual Abu Dhabi investment congress (AIM), which began on Monday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The forum, which will mainly focus on addressing issues related to economic development and exploring new opportunities, is scheduled to conclude on Wednesday.
According to a note from the Angolan Embassy in that middle eastern country, Angola is represented by a delegation led by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rui Minguês, and is also made up of the Angolan ambassador in the UAE, Júlio Maiato, representatives of the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) and representatives of the General Tax Administration (AGT).
This 14th annual investment meeting has as motto “Mapping the Future of Global Investment: The New Wave of a Globalized Investment Landscape: Towards a New Balanced World Structure
The AIM Congress will bring together more than 100 countries, including heads of state, ministers, central bank governors, conference speakers, representatives of the global financial market, exhibitors, business leaders and investors.
On Tuesday, the second day of the event, members of the Angolan delegation will take part in several debate sessions, with a highlight to the speech of the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), Manuel Pedro, in a panel on “African regional forum - From zones to impact: African economic zones reinvented”, at the invitation of the UN (United Nations) Economic Commission for Africa.
The opening of the event on Monday was centered with specific sessions divided around foreign direct investment, global trade, startups and unicorns, cities of the future, finance of the future, global manufacturing, digital economy and entrepreneurship.
In parallel with the AIM Congress, representatives of the Angolan Ministry of Health (MINSA) will participate in the third edition of the World Forum on Local Production under the theme “Advancing Local Production for Health Equity, Global Health Security, and Sustainable Development,”.
The three-day event was promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), aiming to bring together ministers, senior officials, global health experts, representatives of the private sector and international financial institutions.
