Until 2023, according to the source, it was South African operators who produced tourist maps of Angola, so he thought it would be appropriate to take on the responsibility of having Angolans take the lead and present them at what is Africa's largest tourism showcase, South Africa.
He said that the Angolan part of the event is overseen and supervised by the Ministry of Tourism and Tac Tour is among the operators represented by the Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators of Angola (AAVOTA).
Carlos Bumba stressed that the WTM is a pre-event for the Durban Fair, which will take place from May 13 to 15 this year, at the South African Tourism Conference - Africa's Travel Indaba, where the aforementioned maps will also be on display in English, French and Portuguese.
He mentioned that, at the same time as the WTM, the 3rd Edition of the training course is being held in Durban, also in South Africa, sponsored by National Geographic, in the fields of photography, biology, anthropology, history, architecture, image editing and design, which began on March 31st of this year and ends April the 10th, and is being attended by two photographers from Huila.
He stressed that workshops and experiences are currently being shared, in an event in which more than 90 countries are participating, and the idea is to establish partnerships and schedule tours, so that the agendas for the next two years are full of tourists visiting Angola.
