Lubango - The 2nd phase of the implementation of the Integrated Public Security Centre (CISP) project includes the updating of the equipment installed in the first stage in four centres across the country.
The director-general, Commissioner Adulcínio Isaac Lutucuta, told press in Lubango on Sunday that the the first phase, which started five years ago, covered Luanda, Benguela, Huambo and Huíla, whose centers were gradually installed.
He added that the 2nd began in 2024, with a duration of six years, with the construction of more centers planned in other provinces, with Cabinda being the next, later this year.
Adulcínio Isaac Lutucuta, who was speaking at a press conference on the operation of terminal 111 in Huíla, six months after its inoperability, said that the implementation process will run until 20230.
He explained that after five years, the equipment of the first centers needs to be renewed, technologies have evolved and it is planned to update the video surveillance, command and control, analysis and intelligence systems and increase the amount of equipment on public roads.
He pointed out that despite having a good collaboration from the population, there are still people who treat the CISP as a platform for abuse with false information, which harms the institution's performance in cases where there is really a need for help.
Adulcínio Isaac Lutucuta informed that the operators only serve in the Portuguese language, but there is a training plan for them to serve both the local languages of Angola and foreign languages. EM/MS/DOJ
