Ndalatando – The minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Isaac dos Anjos, recommended on Wednesday (9) to provincial governments the creation of 400 agricultural companies for young people annually, with 25 to 100 hectares each.

He said that by 2030 each province should have 1,015 new agricultural entrepreneurs in order to boost the sector.

Isaac dos Anjos, who was speaking at the reopening ceremony of the Mucoso Irrigated Perimeter, also called for the expansion of individual farmers' production areas from 2.5 hectares to at least 25 hectares, to produce food and marketing items.

He said that the strategy aims to strengthen the skills of farmers and free families from dependence on the State, and suggested that they take greater care with the presentation of their products, so that they have better market share.

He also recommended the transformation of food, to ensure the sustenance of families, recalling, however, the fact that Angola has joined the International Coffee Organization treaty, which imposes new rules for the planting and marketing of this product.

Among the rules, he highlighted the protection of workers and the prohibition of employing minors.
