Luanda – President João Lourenço visited on Saturday (12) the Dom Alexandre Cardeal do Nascimento Primary and Secondary Education School Complex, located in Luanda’s Morro Bento zone, Samba Municipality, an institution that is to be unveiled this year.
With 77 class-rooms, the infrastructure is to be inaugurated in the ambit of the commemorations of the country’s 50th Independence Anniversary, to be marked this year, on Nov 11.
The institution belongs to the Catholic Church, but its construction was financed by the Angolan government. It is set to enrol about 1,800 students.
João Lourenço toured various sections of the institution, guided by top figures of the Catholic Church.
The Dom Alexandre Cardeal do Nascimento School Complex is an educational project that results from the inspiration of some Catholic faithful in partnership with the CEAST (Angola and São Tomé Episcopal Conference), aimed at paying tribute to the late Angolan prelate, who was the country’s only Cardinal.
