Ndalatando - The data from the 2024 General Population and Housing Census in Angola will be presented definitively in December of this year, with more than 80% of the results already certified.
According to the Director General of the National Statistics Institute (INE), Joel Futi, survey work is currently underway to fully certify the data collected.
The INE official was speaking to the press on Monday (7) after a meeting with the provincial governor of Cuanza-Norte, João Diogo Gaspar.
Joel Futi explained that, despite having finished in Dec 2024, the process is still ongoing, with positive results in terms of the targets set for its implementation.
The INE director indicated that the institution recently disbursed Akz 4bln (USD 4.350.560) to pay the subsidies of agents/volunteers who directly participated in the 2024 Census.
He explained that the amount was used to pay subsidies to more than 60,000 census agents, surveyors and field technicians.
He also disclosed that the institute still has some outstanding obligations with the companies that provided services to the State, within the framework of the 2024 Census.
He recalled that the process involved more than 700 vehicles, in addition to a considerable number of technical and IT resources.
Joel Futi praised the fact that the province of Cuanza-Norte is the 2nd in Angola to complete the coverage Census.
