Bié - The social and economic development of the central Bié province and other regions of the country dominated the mass rally speech delivered by the ruling MPLA party’s president João Lourenço on Saturday in Bié province, as part of the elections campaign underway in the country.
In his speech, João Lourenço told supporters and MPLA friends that peace and national reconciliation have allowed the economic and social development of Angola.
Praising the engagement of the residents of Bié, João Lourenço said that the population of this region is very dedicated to work, a factor that has transformed and accelerated the development of the province.
"In these five years, we have seen that Bié has been transformed for the better, because many things have been done in this region", highlighted the candidate for President of the Republic, who is seeking the second term in the office.
Many projects have been repaired and built, he said, adding that the government rehabilitated roads, construction of schools, health centers and hospitals, in addition to the public lighting project for the benefit of the local population.
In the 2017 election, MPLA managed to elect three MPs to Parliament, for the provincial constituency of Bié, where 783,684 voters registered to cast their ballots.
