Benguela - Twenty-five media professionals from the provinces of Benguela, Cuanza-Sul, Huambo and Bié will participate, on the 19th and 20th of this month, in a training workshop on municipal civic education, ANGOP learned on Wednesday.
Promoted by the NGO Democracy Works Foundation (DWF), which operates in the SADC region, the training action, taking place in Benguela, is part of its civic education project to train national actors for the implementation of municipal authorities.
According to a source from the management of the project, the participants will reflect on the municipal legislative package, approved in general by the National Assembly.
'We will analyze organic laws related to this legislative package and interact with journalists to hear their opinions,' the source said.
In the same vein, the role of citizens during municipalities will also be analysed.
Regarding the benefits of the implementation of municipalities, he pointed out, among others, the approximation of administrative services to citizens.
'The municipalities will enable the direct involvement of citizens in solving the problems of the communities', he said.
The Democracy Works Foundation is a non-partisan, non-profit regional Non-Governmental Organization (SADC) headquartered in South Africa with offices in Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia and Zambia.
