Luanda - Angola and South Africa agreed Tuesday in Luanda to strengthen cooperation in the parliamentary administration field.
Delegations from the Angolan National Assembly and the South African parliament met in the Angolan capital and agreed, among other things, to strengthen cooperation in the parliamentary administration and exchange of experiences.
The head of the South African parliamentary delegation, Jomo Nyambi, said the exchange of experience with the Angola National Assembly is due to the fact that the historical ties between the two countries are very strong.
"We thought it was time to visit Angola to learn a little about its parliamentary administration process and the construction of the National Assembly Palace and to implement this project in our country as well," he said.
The MP added that in December 2020, the South African Parliament caught fire and, from then on, they decided to carry out visits to various countries, including Angola.
The secretary general of the National Assembly, Pedro Agostinho de Neri, on his turn said the South African deputies had a pleasant experience in terms of the level of Angolan parliamentary organization.
The MP highlighted the fact that they praised the country for its level of parliamentary organization and its capacity to organize events of international magnitude.
Earlier, the South African parliamentary delegation was received in audience by the first vice- speaker of the National Assembly, Américo Cunonoca, to whom they explained the purpose of their visit to Angola.
Relations between Angola and South Africa are considered excellent, based on bonds of friendship and solidarity that go back to the beginnings of the struggles for national liberation and against apartheid and the maintenance of Independence.
The ultimate goal has always been the promotion and development of the social well-being of both countries and their respective peoples. DC/SC/DAN/AMP
