Ndalatando - The Chinese group African Sunrise, which owns the ‘Cidade da China’ shopping complex in Luanda, is going to expand its services in Ndalatando, the capital of Kwanza Norte province, with the construction of a shopping centre with various services.
The intention was expressed by the company's chairman, Jack Huang, at the end of an audience with the governor of the province, João Diogo Gaspar, which aimed to outline the terms of the development.
According to Jack Huang, the project that will be built on Kilometre 11, with construction starting at the end of this year, involves the creation of a China Town Commercial Hub, whose main focus will be trade in various products and will include plastics, iron and other factories.
He explained that the centre will also offer sales of construction materials, household appliances, used clothes and other goods, which will later evolve to include services in the mining and agricultural industries.
He thanked the provincial government for its openness to investment and for its attention and dedication in providing the space for the construction of the infrastructure.
In turn, the governor expressed satisfaction with the proposal put forward by the company and emphasised the openness of the provincial government in promoting private investment, which has been helping to create jobs for young people.
‘We are open to receiving investment and this group should not be limited to trade, but should be broader,’ he said, pointing out that Kwanza Norte is rich in mineral resources such as iron, manganese and marble, as well as having fertile soil for agricultural production. EFM/IMA/YD/DAN/DOJ
