Caxito - The provincial director of the National Statistics Institute (INE), João Baptista, said today, Monday, in Caxito, that the census process in the communes of Caxito, Barra do Dande and Úcua, Dande municipality, Bengo province, will be completed within eight days.
Speaking to ANGOP, the coordinator of the provincial technical group for the census in Bengo explained that the process has been completed in five of the six municipalities in Bengo province (Ambriz, Bula Atumba, Dembos, Nambuangongo and Pango Aluquém).
João Baptista said that census-takers are currently carrying out tracing work in the municipalities that have already completed the process in order to make up for any shortcomings.
In Bengo there are 20 vehicles available for 1,654 agents, including census enumerators and supervisors, who are working in 1,207 census sections in the six municipalities.
This is the second general census in the country in the space of 10 years, following the 2014 Census, which counted more than 25 million inhabitants, organised by the Angolan government through INE.
Bengo province has six municipalities (Dande, Ambriz, Nambuangongo, Dembos, Bula Atumba and Pango Aluquém) and 23 communes. FS/CJ/PA/DAN/DOJ
