Luanda - Combating vandalism of public property and improving the public security system throughout the country are the priorities of the new Minister of the Interior, Manuel Homem, who was sworn into office Monday.
In statements to the press, after being sworn in by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the minister stated that other priorities of the mission include combating illegal immigration, fuel smuggling and the illegal appropriation of wealth.
“We are going to carry out a diagnosis of the sector and invest, above all, in the training and development of human resources, so that we have more and better staff, with a view to responding to the needs that the Police and the bodies of the Ministry of the Interior require”, he stated.
He said that concrete measures will be assessed in all areas, in order to define the actions that the bodies should take to improve the current situation.
