Cuito - The director of the 4th tax region, which corresponds to the provinces of Benguela, Huambo and Bié, Paulo Francisco João, recommended, in the city of Cuito, companies to better regulate their accounting, to continue to compete for public funding.
The appeal was expressed this Wednesday during the meeting he held with economic operators in the province of Bié, as part of the consultation process, he is carrying out in the three provinces in which he operates.
Paulo Francisco João assured that the first item that the bank requires from operators is certainly the organization of accounts, seeking certification from the General Tax Administration of the regular payment of taxes and other invoices.
'The great advantage of having the accounting organized for tax purposes is that the taxpayer is effectively taxed fairly based on the elements presented', he recalled.
On the occasion, Paulo João refuted the idea of having a new tax pardon, similar to what happened in 2014, as most businessmen requested, stressing that the measure is established by law and it is not up to the AGT to institute the possibility.
He recalled that, during 2019 to 2020, the State also forgave some fines and interest for some companies that regularized their tax situation, in light of the General State Budget for individual taxpayers who complied with reporting obligations for five years.
'From a legal point of view, there is no way for the AGT to forgive any company, as it is the duty of this institution to ensure the collection of taxes within the framework of the Law and within the established procedures', he clarified
The governor of Bié, Celeste Adolfo, who witnessed the meeting, asked economic agents to be more attentive to changes in the financial system in the country, to avoid tax evasion. LB/PLB/DOJ
