Sumbe – Two people died and five were injured in a car accident that occurred in the early hours of Friday, in the town of Ngola Lombo, municipality of Porto-Amboim, province of Cuanza-Sul.
According to the head of the institutional communication and press department of the Provincial Command of the National Police, Tomás António, the accident involved a bus from the public transport company “Gira Transportes” that was traveling Luanda/Benguela, which collided with another bus broken down, on National Road (EN) 100.
The source pointed to excessive speed and lack of signage as possible causes of the accident.
On the other hand, he informed that due to the rise of rainwater on the EN-100 in the town of Hogiwa, the National Police will reinforce traffic control in order to prevent accidents.
“The water transcended the asphalt carpet in that section and reached a level of around one meter. For this reason, maximum caution is advised”, he reinforced.
