Luanda - The First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, fulfilled, on the 8th and 9th, a work agenda at the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), in her capacity as Vice-President of this forum.
The meetings, held in a joint agenda with the First Lady of Sierra Leone and President of the organization, Fátima Maada Bio, reinforced the joint commitment to development and cooperation on the African continent.
In addition to the formal presentation of the new leadership to the partners, the highlight was the presentation of the Strategic Framework 2025-2030 event.
With the new Strategic Framework for 2025-2030, OAFLAD reaffirms its leadership, vision and commitment to the development of Africa, based on the fundamental and transversal pillars regarding climate change, peace and the continent's security.
For the organization, the continent's development also involves matters related to strengthening health systems to ensure universal and quality access for women and children, equitable and accessible education, women's economic empowerment and the eradication of gender-based violence.
OAFLAD aims to advocate and promote impactful initiatives that lead to effective solutions to critical development challenges.
With a strong commitment to a prosperous and equitable Africa, the organization advocates that all women and children have access to dignified and transformative opportunities.
The program also included courtesy meetings between the organization's President and Deputy-President, the AU Commission Chairperson, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, the AU Comission Director of the Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Alhaji Sarjoh Bah, and the First Lady of the Republic of Ethiopia, Zinash Tayachew.
