Luena - A total of 33 million kwanzas have been disbursed in five years by the Fund to Support Agricultural Development (FADA) to promote 3,713 agricultural projects in the country, ANGOP learned on Tuesday in Luena (Moxico).
The information was disclosed by the FADA representative, Otário Barata, during a seminar on the stimulation of the Angolan economy, promoted by the Eastern Regional Delegation of the National Bank of Angola (BNA).
Barata explained that the funds earmarked for the financing of family farming have made it possible to increase agricultural production in the country, especially in the central and coastal provinces.
He said that the program has supported a total of 82,100 farmers who have cultivated 147,785 hectares, producing 1.4 million tons of various products, from 2020 to date, after reiterating that FADA offers eight lines of financing for comprehensive and private agricultural activity, with loans of up to 50 million kwanzas.
Laurindo Lopes, a BNA analysis technician, encouraged those present to apply for housing loans, which also include the construction of tourist facilities, restaurants and similar establishments, with amounts ranging from 150 to 200 million kwanzas.
