Luanda - The Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion is fully equipped to host performances of the international gymnastics tournament from April 15 to 19th, as part of the festivities of the 50th anniversary of the Angola National Independence.
Inaugurated in 2013 to host the roller hockey world championship, the building has a 13-meter square, with a resistant fitness mat at the center of its playing court.
The pavilion's playing floor is covered with a thin black rubber mat and the tumbling track is set up vertically on the side.
With 25m long and 2m wide, the track is made of wooden support, with a hard side rail at the bottom and an interior made of several pieces of horizontal fiber tubes.
The top is covered with a thick red carpet, as well as mattresses for the athletes to receive or fall on during the race.
Outside the pavilion, the stage is decorated with several flags of various colors, including a giant canvas with the words of the race on the entrance gate to the Kilamba Multipurpose yard.
The international independence tournament, to be held for the first time in the country, is to be attended by teams from Angola, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Brazil and Portugal.
