Cazombo – The minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos dos Santos, inspected on Monday (14) the critical condition of the National Road 250, on the Luau-Cazombo section, in the province of Moxico Leste.

The official travelled the aforementioned route, covering 170 of the 260 kilometres between the municipality of Luau and Cazombo, in a journey that took 8 hours, (6 more hours than expected).

After noting the road's high state of degradation, the official reaffirmed the government's commitment to intervening in the aforementioned section.

Carlos Alberto said that the ministry he chairs already has plans to reverse the current situation.

The official guaranteed that “in the coming days, the ongoing works could experience a new dynamic with urgent interventions”, mainly in the most critical areas.

The aforementioned section, whose works have been halted since 2013, has already benefited from 85 kilometres of asphalting, in the Luau/Cazombo direction, out of the 260 kilometres that separate the two municipal headquarters.

Despite the earthworks that the aforementioned section has undergone, it has still been impassable during the rainy season, isolating the population of that region from the rest of the country, as it is the only route that guarantees the mobility of people and goods.
