Luanda - The State of Israel intends to encourage parliamentary cooperation with Angola in order to strengthen existing bilateral relations between the two states, said Tuesday the Israel Ambassador to Angola, Shimon Solomon.
Speaking to the press at the end of an audience with the speaker of the National Assembly (AN), Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, the diplomat gave assurances that much can be done and that everything will be done to promote that cooperation.
"We have the same ambitions and desires at parliamentary level, we don't need to rush, slowly and well we will get there," he explained.
He pointed to education, agriculture and cybernetics, as the areas with the greatest common interest.
The diplomat hopes that the general elections next August would take place in a democratic and peaceful manner.
Shimon Solomon, who replaced Oren Rozenblat, delivered the Letters of Credence to the Head of State, João Lourenço, last March.
Angola and Israel cooperate in several areas, such as humanitarian, health, education, aviation, civil construction, security and telecommunications.
