Luanda - An exhibition of art objects, illustrative images and literary works by Angolan writers kicked off on Monday, in Accra, Ghana, to celebrate the 49th years of National Independence, marked on November 11.
According to a press release, sent to ANGOP on Tuesday, the event, which will take place until the 14th of this month, is available to all those interested in learning more about Angola and its economic, tourist and infrastructure potential, an initiative of the diplomatic mission in that African country.
At the opening of the exhibition, the Angolan ambassador to Ghana, João Baptista Quiosa, considered November 11th to be a memorable date for all Angolans, meaning the occasion should serve to reinforce bonds of brotherhood, solidarity and good coexistence.
He stressed that all Angolans, wherever they are, must salute and recognize the achievements of those who fought for the country's independence.
On the other hand, a video was presented on the productive and infrastructure potential of the Republic of Angola, with emphasis on the Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport and the Lobito Corridor, with those present being informed about the progress that the country has reached.
On November 11, 1975, the president of the MPLA, António Agostinho Neto, proclaimed Angola's independence "before Africa and the World", after 500 years of Portuguese colonization.
