Cuanza-Norte - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, meets on Wednesday, with the provincial government of Cuanza-Norte, to learn about the region's socioeconomic situation and define strategies to promote local development.
The meeting is part of the agenda of the visit that João Lourenço has been carring out in this province since November 11th, with the highlight on the inauguration of the “Mário Pinto de Andrade Provincial Hospital”, which took place Tuesday.
The hospital that now provides high quality health services to the population of Cuanza-Norte and the rest of the region has specialties in surgery, imaging, physical rehabilitation, neonatology, emergencies, intensive care and others.
Also noteworthy is the care for kidney patients, who for the first time have access to hemodialysis sessions, previously only possible by resorting to neighboring provinces such as Benguela, Huambo and Luanda.
President Lourenço also verified the level of execution of works on the new water supply project in the city of Ndalatando, Cuanza-Norte’s capital.
Accompanied by the Angolan First Lady and members of the Executive, he received explanations and toured the several areas of the new collection system built at the municipal headquarters of Lucala, equipped with a pumping capacity of 17.7k cubic meters of water/daily and which should be completed in February 2025.
Also on the same day, the President visited the fair of agricultural products grown by producers in the region.
Of the products on display, highlights include beans, tomatoes, corn, onions, cassava, carrots, eggplant, pumpkin, pineapple, among others.
