Luanda – The Angolan swimmer, Nyriam Morais, is in the United States of America, where she’ll be working at the High Performance Center “Azura Florida Aquatics” until January.
The information was provided by the athlete's mother, Winy Morais, adding that the swimmer has been training in the state of Florida since September.
Nyriam seeks to improve her performance on American soil with the aim of obtaining the minimum qualifications for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California.
The athlete from the Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda (CNIL), is the African champion of Zone IV in the 50m butterfly, a race held in 2023, in Luanda.
At the same event, she was voted the Most Valuable Player (MVP) aged 12-14.
Nyriam Morais, national record holder, is one of the fastest junior swimmers to evolve in the country, and was therefore part of the national team that competed in the absolute African swimming championship, held this year “Angola-2024”.
