Mbanza Kongo - Ministry of Interior in northern Zaire province Tuesday urged voters to behave in a dignified manner during the voting process, set for Wednesday (24).
The appeal was launched by the spokesman for the Interior Ministry in Zaire province, Sérgio Afonso, who asked mainly young voters to abstain from unseemly conduct that could tarnish the process, which is heading into its final stretch, in a satisfactory manner.
“We must go to polling stations only to exercise our citizenship rights and not create situations that could disrupt the process”, the official has told Angop.
By the way, he asked potential voters not to drink alcohol before the ballot, and to return home after exercising their right to vote.
He said that 4,000 people from the corporation were mobilised across the province to secure the safety of the election.
The province of Zaire has 321,781 registered voters and 259 polling stations.
