Accra - The 6th biannual coordination meeting of the African Union (AU) with the Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and the Regional Mechanisms (RM) began today, Sunday, in Accra, Ghana, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço.
Under the motto 'Educating and Empowering Africa for the 21st Century', the main objectives of the meeting are to promote a clear division of labour and effective collaboration between the AU, economic communities, regional mechanisms and member states of the continental organisation, in order to be aligned with the principles of subsidiarity, complementarity and comparative advantage.
The Ghanaian n President Nana Akufo-Ado welcomed his counterparts or their representatives present, as well as wished success at the end of the summit at the opening of the event.
The meeting's work programme includes the intervention of the presidents of the regional economic communities and regional mechanisms, with the presentation of the Angolan statesman being the eighth of the dia.SC/VIC/DOJ
