Luanda - National Assembly will discuss and vote in generality on May 25 the Draft Law on Freedom of Assembly and Demonstration, a legislative initiative of the Parliamentary group of the opposition UNITA party.

The Bill is expected to respond to an imperative of democracy and to allow a truly effective implementation of the rule "Freedom of Assembly and Demonstration of Article 47 of the Constitution".

On the other hand, approval of Draft Law will consolidate the constitutional transition to the democratic regime started in 1991.

The move will also create practical and effective mechanisms for the effective exercise of fundamental rights and for the consequent implementation of the Constitution and affirmation of the Democratic state.
