Luanda – Angolan writer Manuel Rui Monteiro Saturday in Luanda recognised the potential of Angolan plastic artists and called for more support to assist them in developing their creative skills.
Manuel Rui Monteiro, who was speaking to ANGOP on the sidelines of the first individual exhibition of the plastic artist Júlio Pintos, said with support, artists can develop their creativity and exhibit their works, both domestically and internationally.
According to the author of the book "Quem Me Dera Ser Onda", the exhibited works of the young artist show his creative capacity and potential, as well as of others that should be supported, to enhance the Angolan culture through the creation and exhibition of works with quality.
Rui Monteiro pointed to the training of artists as a key element in this support process, so that there is a projection of the authors domestically and internationally, with the production of works with expressive themes.
At least 20 paintings, with techniques ranging from watercolor, China ink on paper, acrylic on canvas, mixed technique, and digital art, are exposed since Friday, at the Tamar Golan Gallery, of the Art and Culture Foundation, in Luanda.
The paintings of the exhibition "Shapes and Sizes", authored by the artist Júlio Pinto, will be on display until September 17.
