Luanda - The National Football Team carried out this Thursday, in the city of Douala, Cameroon, the first training to adapt to the local environment, for the game with the Central African Republic (CAR), referring to the 5th round of the Group E qualifying for CAN'2024, in Côte d´Ivoire.
In preparation, for Saturday's match, at Stade de la Reunificación, coach Pedro Gonçalves submitted some physical exercises and ball control to the players.
The National Team squad landed early this morning in the city of Douala, stage of the meeting with CAR.
The country's delegation is headed by the vice-president of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), José Carlos Miguel.
Angola occupy third place in the group with 5 points, 2 less than CAR, in second. Ghana leads with 8, while Madagascar occupies the last position, with a single point.
However, there is absence of the striker Depú, the Angolan player, who plays for Gil Vicente de Portugal, was injured on Wednesday, during the last training session in Portugal.
For this CAN qualification, which will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in Côte d'Ivoire, the National team is made up of the following players:
(Goalkeeper) - Neblu (1º de Agosto), Kadu (Alverca) and Gelson (Interclube de Luanda)
(Defenders) - Tó Carneiro, Quinito, Eddy Afonso (Petro de Luanda), Buatu (Valencienes), Gigli Ndefe (Liberec), Jordy Gaspar (Grenoble) and Lula (Sagrada Esperança).
(Middleweight) - Fredy (Antalayaspor), Beni Mukedi (Casa Pia), Keliano (1.º de Agosto), Loid (Mafra), Show (Ludogorets), Megue (Petro) and Nelson da Luz (Vitória de Guimarães)
