Caxito – Angola’s northern Bengo province is to hold its first Provincial Coffee Conference in March, with the aim to analyze issues related to re-launch production, promoting the crop and looking to the future.
The event will bring together entrepreneurs, producers and banks to discuss the current state of coffee growing, the potential and opportunities of this crop in the province, as well as the role of banks in financing entrepreneurs.
Maria Antónia Nelumba,Bengo governor, said the event aims to provide the audience with greater knowledge about the potential of the coffee in the region, strengthen small, medium and large producers and find greater openness with banks.
The governor recalled that coffee was once a dominant crop in Bengo province and should therefore be revived.
