Uíge – Inhabitants of the Culo village, in the main municipality of the Province of Uíge, call for the improvement of health and education services and the installation of a system for collecting, treating and distributing drinking water.
Founded in 1982, the Culo village also struggles with road traffic difficulties, due to the poor condition of the access road that would facilitate the flow of agricultural production.
Speaking to ANGOP, today Wednesday, the local governor, Amândio Amaral, explained that the social center and the two health posts are in poor technical condition, associated with this difficulty is the lack of medicines in the health units.
Amândio Amaral said that they consume unsuitable water and, at this time of year, the situation gets worse, because "we contract diarrheal and acute respiratory diseases, typhoid fever, hepatitis and skin infections", he lamented.
Regarding agricultural production, without specifying the quantity of production, he only said that they are dedicated to the production of cassava, peanut, sweet potatoes, corn, pumpkin, beans and other field products.
He mentioned that the land is fertile, requiring only agricultural instruments to improve the activity carried out in the field.
Culo Village has an estimated population of 3,590 inhabitants.
