Luanda – The work on the University Campus of the Agostinho Neto University will resume in 2022, according to the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
The Angolan Head of State, who delivered the speech on the State of the Nation, in Parliament, announced the existence of a guarantee of funding for this purpose.
This campus, whose master plan was developed in 2000 and updated in 2009, has 4 academic buildings (with classrooms, offices and laboratories), a central library, a restaurant, a student center and a conference center.
The first phase of the campus has the capacity to accommodate three thousand students, which will increase to 40 thousand after the completion of the remaining stages.
João Lourenço said that the package of projects in the higher education segment also included the construction of the UAN School of Medicine Hospital, the conclusion of the Caio University Campus (Cabinda), the rectory of the 11 de Novembro University and the installations of one of its organic units.
He said that the conclusion of the third phase of the University of Namibe is also included in the package.
The President highlighted the Executive's commitment to specialist training, with the annual sending of 300 graduates and masters to the best universities in the world.
