Luanda - Angola ambassador Maria Cândida Teixeira presented on Monday in El Salvador, the potential and investment opportunities that exist in her country.
In the Salvador capital, San Salvador, according to a press release, the Angolan representative in Cuba highlighted the energy, infrastructure, agriculture, agro-industry, tourism, environment, education and culture sectors as the most attractive.
Before an audience of ministers, academics, ambassadors, among other individuals, Cândida Teixeira highlighted the Angolan government’s commitment to continue implementing economic reforms.
The diplomat explained that the objective is to continue to open to the world with an increased business environment welcoming national and foreign private investments.
Through a promotional video, the ambassador spoke about the importance of the Lobito Corridor, an infrastructure that will bring development not only to Angola, but also to neighboring countries, namely Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
According to the diplomat, through the Lobito corridor rare minerals exploited in those two countries will be transported in less time and at a better price.
The railway, said the Angolan diplomat, connected to a congestion-free port in the Lobito municipality, represents a potential change of direction for trade between the interior of Africa and the Atlantic Ocean.
Cooperation
Looking at the future of relations between Angola and El Salvador, the ambassador said she was convinced that there is a vast field of opportunities for cooperation and joint growth.
“Angola is committed to strengthening its diplomatic relations with the Republic of El Salvador and exploring all cooperation opportunities that can contribute to the well-being and prosperity of both countries”, the ambassador said.
The diplomat declared that both countries are convinced that, united, they can overcome the challenges they face and build a future of prosperity and common development.
Diplomatic relations between Angola and El Salvador were established in September 2023, in New York, United States of America.
El Salvador is the smallest nation in Central America, known for its extraordinary mountainous landscapes and stunning beaches on the Pacific Ocean, popular spots for surfing. VIC/TED/AMP
