Cuanza-Norte – A 36-year-old Angolan citizen, presumed responsible of 6 crimes of rape and murder of elderly women, in farm fields, was presented on Monday by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), in Ndalatando city, Province of Cuanza-Norte.
The alleged criminal, who confessed to committing the crimes, used to surprise the victims in agricultural fields at the end of the day, when they were alone.
According to the SIC spokesperson in Cuanza-Norte, Kituxi André, the cases occurred from January to October this year.
The last one, which happened at the end of October, the victim was a 74-year-old woman, who was apparently surprised when leaving its plantation, in the Kilombo Botanical Garden area.
On Sunday, Nov 03, in an attempt to claim yet another victim, the accused, at the end of the day, entered the bush next to the Pumangol Gas Station, at the entrance to the city, where he found another elderly woman, who managed to escape and reported to the SIC office that captured the alleged criminal.
Regarding the "modus operandis" and motivations for the crimes, the SIC spokesperson reported that he acted at nightfall with the aim of sexually satisfying himself, but in order not to be recognized, he asphyxiated the victims.
In February, the same individual was already detained by the SIC for murder, but he was released by the guarantee judge on condition of fixed residence and regular reporting to the authorities (sort of Bail)
In view of the cases of rape and murder in farm fields, the SIC spokesperson reinforced the appeal to peasant women to go to the fields with company and to avoid leaving the spot too late.
The accused will be presented to the Public Prosecutor's Office and later to the guarantee judge.
