Dundo - The new public prosecutor in Lunda Norte, Mário Salvador Gama, said on Friday that cases of corruption, embezzlement and influence peddling, particularly those involving public managers, would be dealt with quickly.
In statements to the press, at the end of his presentation to the members of the local government, Mário Salvador Gama said that, for this purpose, he will appoint some magistrates to dedicate themselves solely and exclusively to cases related to such crimes, so that the transgressors are held accountable.
"We will work to end the lethargy that is registered in the treatment of cases of crimes of embezzlement, corruption, influence peddling, money laundering, among others, which hamper the socio-economic development of the province," he stressed.
He added that he will also deal with crimes of diamond trafficking, human beings, illegal migration, fuel smuggling, among other economic crimes.
Mario Salvador Gama replaces José Hespanhol in the post, 16 years later, and is the seventh public prosecutor in the province of Lunda Norte.
Lunda Norte province currently has 18 judicial magistrates and two district courts.
