Luanda – The United States of America today congratulated the Angolan people on the commemoration of the 49th anniversary of their National Independence, celebrated on Monday.
In a press release to ANGOP, the US Secretary of State addresses his congratulations to Angolans, on behalf of the United States of America.
'On behalf of the United States of America, I am pleased to wish the People of Angola the most sincere congratulations for celebrating 49 years of Independence, on November 11,' reads the note.
He adds that the growth of the strategic partnership between Angola and the United States over the past few years has been 'exceptional'.
'We have expanded trade and investment, increased our security cooperation, built on our already strong collaborative efforts in health care, and strengthened our bilateral relationship,' he said.
Anthony Blinken says that, as he said when he visited Luanda earlier this year, the future of America and Africa 'are united'.
According to the US Secretary of State, 'our peoples are united, our prosperity and success are intertwined'.
