Caxito - The president of MPLA, João Lourenço, announced this Saturday in Caxito, the rehabilitation of the Onzo/Muxaluando section, in the municipality of Nambuangongo, Bengo province.
Speaking at a mass political act of the MPLA, held in the locality of Açucareira, in Caxito, as part of the pre-election campaign, he said the Onzo/Muxaluando section is important, but its degradation has made life difficult for the population.
"One cannot talk about development without talking about roads," the MPLA leader said.
The Onzo/Muxaluando section has been a cause of concern for the population of the historic municipality of Nambuangongo, especially during rainy season, due to its bad condition.
The road between the provincial capital (Caxito) connecting the localities of Caiengue, Onzo and Muxaluando, in the municipality of Nambuangongo constitutes a fundamental axis for the flow of agro-livestock products from the countryside to the city, since Nambuangongo is a potentially agricultural municipality and one of the main producers of bananas in the province.
Kifangondo Road
The MPLA leader also announced the rehabilitation of the Kifangongo/Caxito section of the national road (EN100), which is currently quite degraded, mainly due to the constant traffic of heavy vehicles.
"The decision has been taken and the financial resources for the execution of the work have already been identified and made available for this project," President Lourenço said.
The said section recently received superficial work to minimise the difficulty that drivers face daily in travelling between Bengo and Luanda provinces.
