Luanda - The National Assembly Thursday ordered the opening of a disciplinary proceeding against the MP of the largest opposition UNITA, Alberto José Catenda, for misuse of the car assigned to him for the exercise and dignity of his parliamentary function.
The order, sent to ANGOP, bases the measure on the need to enquire the truth of the facts imputed to the MP, who, by his conduct, may incur a breach of his parliamentary duties.
Therefore, under the combined provisions of Article 18(2) of the Code of Ethics and Parliamentary Decorum, Article 45(1)(e) of the National Assembly's Rules of Procedure and Article 45(2) of Organic Law No. 1/2024, of 5 September - the Law on the Organization and Functioning of the National Assembly's Services, it was decided to open the aforementioned process, to be conducted by the Specialized Working Committees.
