Cabinda - More than a thousand exhibitors from the four municipalities of the province of Cabinda have been participating, since Wednesday, in the town of Cacongo, in a fair to promote and sell agricultural products.
Promoted by the Municipal Administration of Cacongo, the event opened by the governor of Cabinda, Suzana de Abreu, is part of the celebrations commemorating the 49th anniversary of National Independence, to be marked next Monday, November 11th.
Over four days, the organizers of this event, which takes place annually in November, aims to raise more than Akz 20 million (US$ 21.860).
On the occasion, the governor of Cabinda, Suzana de Abreu said that in addition to promoting domestic production, the fair also aims to encourage the exchange of experiences between farmers in the region.
She reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to ongoing support to public and private initiatives aimed at diversifying the national economy.
She also recalled that the Province of Cabinda has fertile land and abundant water resources for large-scale agricultural production and livestock farming.
The municipal administrator of Cacongo, Armando do Carmo, said, in turn, that the local administration is available to support entrepreneurs interested in investing in the agricultural sector in the district with agricultural inputs.
Suzana de Abreu said that 304 hectares of land are being prepared using agricultural mechanization throughout the municipality.
During her visit to the municipality of Cacongo, the governor offered local farmers motorbikes, tractors and animal feed for livestock breeders.
