Luanda - The attitude, determination and grit of the senior women's national handball team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games should be the same at the African Championship (CAN), taking place from November 27 November to December 7, in Kinshasa, DRC.
According to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, who was speaking at the ceremony to hand over the flag to the delegation for the 26th CAN, the working group is made up of experienced young people capable of triumphing, as Angolans are used to.
The official hopes that the same thing will happen in the DRC as last July, in Paris (France), in which after the opening game Angola gave its maximum against the main candidates for the title.
“It is difficult to direct any message to a team with many titles, but if each one of you gives your best you will be honoring the group. But let's not lose sight of the fact that the others are also working to achieve the same performances as Angola,” he stressed.
Rui Falcão confirmed that all the administrative procedures under the responsibility of his portfolio were handled with the Federation, in order to lack 'absolutely nothing' for the champions of Africa.
In turn, the captain of the national team, Marta Alberto, said that the collective worked and that there is a commitment not to disappoint the expectations of Angolans.
The national team will work until the 14th and travel the next day to France in training. It goes to the competition stage on the 26th of this month.
The Angolans, 15 times African champions, are in group B with Tunisia, their debut opponent, Guinea, Uganda, DRC and Cameroon.
Here are the chosen ones:
