Luanda - Angola's Ombudswoman Florbela Araújo is attending the 13th World Conference of the Institute of Ombudsperson (IOI), which takes place in The Hague, Netherlands, from the 12th to the 17th of this month.
In The Hague, Florbela Araújo participated in the session sharing knowledge and experiences on the role of the Ombudsman, environmental protection, damages, losses and injustices for citizens.
At the opening of the lecture series at the 13th World Conference of the Institute of Ombudsmen, the King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, highlighted the importance of the function and role of ombudsmen at an international level.
He said that despite belonging to different countries, these mediators have the mission of promoting human rights, good governance and mediating conflicts between citizens and public administration.
The King of the Netherlands also pointed out the “principle of independence” of Ombudsmen in the balance of the “Citizen-Public Administration” relationship, above all, in the creation of mechanisms that make it possible to maintain good interaction between them. ART/DOJ
