Cabinda – At least 60 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), who were living illegally in Angola’s northern Cabinda province, were repatriated on Tuesday by the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), a statement from the Ministry of Interior has said.
According to the statement, the illegal immigrants have been repatriated through the Yema border post and included 40 men and 20 women, adding that the citizens of the neighboring country had been rounded up in various neighborhoods in the northern Cabinda as part of efforts to control and inspect foreigners in an illegal migration situation.
The province of Cabinda shares 220 kilometers of border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, of which 120 are by land and 100 by river. JFC/JL/DAN/AMP
