Cuito - The Public Prosecutor's Office in central Bié Province needs five more magistrates to meet the demand, said Wednesday in Cuito Municipality the provincial Chief Prosecutor of this body, Jaime Prata.
The magistrate was speaking to the local press during a courtesy meeting that the Deputy Prosecutor of the Republic and Coordinator of the Central Region, Carlos Manuel dos Santos, held with the governor of Bié Province, Pereira Alfredo.
According to Jaime Prata, the Attorney General´s Office currently has 20 magistrates (public prosecutors), which is not enough, since each year more than a thousand criminal cases are brought to court.
Thus, he requested an increase of at least five more magistrates to facilitate interventions in the more remote areas of the province.
On his turn, Carlos Manuel dos Santos praised the commitment of the provincial executive in the creation of conditions, both in terms of infrastructures and accommodation for magistrates.
