Cabinda - The "Lifua A" oil platform, under construction in the Malongo field in Cabinda, is due to be launched on the sea in June, the project coordinator Suzana Costa said Friday.
The information was given during the presentation of the project to the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as part of his three-day visit to Cabinda province.
Budgeted at USD 60 million, the platform is due to go into production at the end of 2023.
The infrastructure, the first of its kind under construction in Portugal, plans to drill wells in Block-0 and create 300 direct jobs.
The project also aims to support gas and oil exploration in the Takula field, Block-0.
On the site, the Head of State, accompanied by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, signed one of the panels of the platform with his name.
The "Lifua A" is a project of the multinational company Chevron, via its subsidiary in Angola, the Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC).
