Luanda – Angola presented on Friday, in São Tomé & Príncipe, the candidacy of Ambassador Oliveira Francisco to the post of Executive Secretary of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP), for the 2025-27 period.
The presentation of the candidacy was witnessed by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, during the 24th Ordinary Meeting of the CPLP Council.
The candidacy will eventually be formalised in accordance with the organisation’s statutory rules, for the two-year term post.
Created on 17 July 1996, the CPLP is focused on political and diplomatic concert and co-operation among the Portuguese language countries.
The organisation’s current members are Brazil, Angola, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorual Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé & Príncipe, and East-Timor.ART/jmc
