Luanda – The União Recreativo do Kilamba group, from the municipality of Rangel, won the Luanda Carnival 2025 edition in class A, obtaining 947 points, the event's organizing committee reported on Wednesday, in Luanda.

It should be noted that it is the group's third consecutive victory in this event, considered Angola's largest cultural showcase.

The União Mundo da Ilha group came in second place with 843 points, while third was the União Njinga Mbandi group with 793 points.

In the same category, União Amazonas do Prenda came in fourth place with 768 points, while União Kiela came in fifth place with 752 points.

The central parade of class A took place on Sunday in the new boulevard of Luanda, in the presence of the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, among other personalities.

This year's carnival, which was the 48th edition, was held as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of national independence, marked on 11 November.
