Saurimo - The deputy governor for technical sector and infrastructures of Lunda-Sul, Cláudio Pemessa, on Monday called for the need to promote public-private partnerships in order to boost socio-economic development in the eastern region of the country.
The official made the appeal during the opening of the regional seminar on “public-private partnerships”, promoted by the Ministry of Planning, stressing that given the budgetary constraints the country has been experiencing, it is necessary to mobilize the private sector to close the gaps in infrastructure development and service provision.
Cláudio Pemessa highlighted the importance of the seminar, since it will improve the identification and potential project selection that can be implemented through public-private partnerships.
The five-day training course is part of the reforms and sustainability of public finances, within the framework of the National Development Plan 2023/2027.
The training is aimed at municipal administrators, deputies, provincial directors of the Office of Study, Planning and Statistics (GEPE), Public Works and Infrastructure, Integrated Economic Development, secretaries of the Provincial governments of Lunda-Sul, Lunda-Norte and Moxico. QB/JW/HD/TED/AMP
