Ndalatando - The Municipal Administration of Cazengo, in Cuanza Norte province, has applied three hundred and five million and 215 thousand kwanzas, of the 336 planned for the 2023 financial year, in the Integrated Program for Local Development and Fight against Poverty (PIDLCP).
Of these amounts, 232 million were allocated to the education sector and 37 million to primary health care.
According to Tavares de Fátima, the program, consisting of nine axes, allowed the execution of projects for the social promotion, training and empowerment of women, with the delivery of professional kits.
This axis of empowerment and promotion of entrepreneurship and other income-generating activities benefited 164 families.
The municipal official provided this information, today (Thursday), at the Municipal Forum for Accountability for the 2023 economic year and collection of contributions to the administration's budget for 2025.
He informed that in the field of agriculture, seven actions were carried out, consisting of the acquisition of fertilizers, agricultural inputs, mechanization of 45 hectares to support family farming, in the commune of Canhoca and in the sectors of Zavula and Zanga, as well as the acquisition of motor pumps and other equipment.
At the opening of the event, the municipal administrator of Cazengo, Fernandino Leitão, considered the Participatory Budget a mechanism for promoting citizenship and direct participation of citizens in the preparation of the budget of the Municipal Administration.
This program, he continued, also allows citizens to inspect and monitor the execution of the budget.
The PIDLCP aims at the social and productive inclusion of citizens, the reduction of extreme poverty levels, the promotion of local growth and development, and universal access to services by communities.
